Hello, I am Dr. Prajakta Patil, an MBBS graduate from Pune, Maharashtra. I feel incredibly blessed to be the first person to join the Eat Fruits and Heal Revolution. In 2020, at the age of 19, after clearing my medical entrance exams, I shifted my focus to healing my body, which had been facing numerous challenges since my appendectomy in July 2015, when I was 14.
Like many children, I often went through acute healing crises, experiencing things like smallpox, colds, coughs, and throat inflammation—what many consider “infections.” My parents, both pharmacists, understandably turned to doctors and medications for every “detox” reaction my body faced. This is what 99% of people still do, but as I would later learn, it may not always be the best approach.
The true downturn in my health began in 2011, when I was diagnosed with appendicitis. Every few months, I had severe abdominal pain that I would manage with painkillers. But after overindulging at a school event, I experienced unbearable pain that even medication couldn’t relieve. A scan showed I needed immediate surgery. I was quickly prepared for the operation, and, at 14, I was terrified. My appendix, which had ruptured, was removed, and pus was drained.
Following the surgery, my health hit a low point. My face broke out in acne, I missed periods for six months, and my parents were deeply worried. For over two and a half years, I was treated by a gynecologist and was diagnosed with a rare form of lean-type PCOS. Unlike the more common form, I wasn’t significantly overweight. Before PCOS, I weighed 50 kg; at my heaviest, I was 56 kg. Despite dieting and exercise, I struggled to lose weight. I had no natural periods, only induced bleeding from medication, along with hirsutism, hair loss, and elevated DHEAs and testosterone levels.
When the hormonal medications made me feel constantly tired without offering a true solution, I stopped them. I tried homeopathy for a year with no results and then moved to Ayurveda, enduring bitter juices and powdered medicines. But even that offered no lasting cure. My frustration peaked when my Ayurvedic doctor stopped responding as my periods were delayed for five months.
After being selected for medical college, I dedicated myself to restoring my health. I did a personalized yoga course for PCOS for over a month, yet my period delay stretched to six months. Then, in December 2020, I discovered Gaurav Goyal Sir through a YouTube video that promised a 100% cure for any illness through a fruit-based diet. There were no testimonials for PCOS recovery yet, but I decided to take a leap of faith and started this new journey.
The first 10 days on the fruit diet were challenging. I battled cravings but soon began to feel better physically and mentally. By day 37, something incredible happened: I got my first natural period in five years—without any medication. January 18, 2021, is a date I’ll never forget. It marked two milestones: my healing from PCOS and my first day of medical college.
Today, in 2024, I’m completely healthy. My periods are regular, my hair is thick and healthy, my skin glows, and my body is in great shape. Since 2021, I’ve been vegan, motivated by a newfound compassion for all living beings.
